Series Description:

Python is a powerful, open-source and popular programming language with a wide variety of applications. Whether you’re interested in web or software development, data analysis, or computational programming, this workshop series will provide the foundations needed to get started. Over seven weeks, we’ll tackle Python together in 30-45 minute bites.

This introductory workshop series is for you if you:

  • Have never programmed before, and are looking for a place to begin
  • Have experience with using Python, and would like to brush up on fundamental concepts
  • Have experience in other programming languages (e.g. R), and would like to learn and apply Python in your work

The workshops are intended to build upon each other, but you can attend any sessions you choose.

Workshop 1: Introduction to Python and Designing a Program (7/9)

Workshop 2: Decision Structures and Boolean Logic (7/16)

Workshop 3: Lists (7/23)

Workshop 4: Repetition Structures (7/30)

Workshop 5: Functions (8/6)

Workshop 6: Python for Tabular Data (8/13)

Workshop 7: Python for Data Visualization (8/20)
